4. Implants
A dental implant is a "root" device, usually made of titanium, used in dentistry to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth to replace missing teeth.

Virtually all dental implants placed today are root-form endosseous implants, i.e., they appear similar to an actual tooth root and are placed within the bone. The bone of the jaw accepts and osseointegrates with the titanium post. Osseointegration refers to the fusion of the implant surface with the surrounding bone. Dental implants will fuse with bone; however, they lack the periodontal ligament, so they will feel slightly different from natural teeth during chewing.

Dental implants can be used to support a number of dental prostheses, including crowns, implant-supported bridges or dentures.[1] They can also be used as anchorage for orthodontic tooth movement. The use of dental implants permits undirectional tooth movement without reciprocal action.

5. Root canal treatment
Endodontic therapy or root canal therapy, is a sequence of treatment for the pulp of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection and protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion. This set of procedures is commonly referred to as a "root canal." Root canals and their associated pulp chamber are the physical hollows within a tooth that are naturally inhabited by nerve tissue, blood vessels and other cellular entities. Endodontic therapy involves the removal of these structures, the subsequent shaping, cleaning, and decontamination of the hollows with tiny files and irrigating solutions, and the obturation (filling) of the decontaminated canals with an inert filling such as gutta percha and typically a eugenol-based cement. Epoxy resin, which may or may not contain Bisphenol A is employed to bind gutta percha in some root canal procedures.

After endodontic surgery the tooth will be "dead," and if an infection is spread at the apex, root end surgery is required.

Although the procedure is relatively painless when done properly,[2] the root canal remains a stereotypically fearsome dental operation.

6. Crown & Bridges
A crown or a cap is a custom made restoration or prosthesis made in a dental lab that is used to cover the tooth with significant amount of loss of tooth structure. They restore the teeth to health, aesthetics and function by providing the required size, shape, contour, strength and support to the damaged teeth structure. After Root Canal procedure it is highly recommended that tooth is restored with a crown to give functional and aesthetical rehabilitation.

When multiple crowns are fused and fabricated together to provide a fixed replacement for missing tooth or teeth it is termed as a Bridge. Bridge is fabricated by placing crowns on the teeth adjacent to the gap created by missing teeth and joining all of them together. For a Bridge to succeed the supporting have to be healthy and even root canal treated teeth can be used for support. They are fabricated by using any crown type as mentioned: Crowns & bridge can be fabricated with different type of materials available today suiting to different needs. There are variety of options to choose from :
  • Porcelain Fused to Metal (Ceramic / Tooth Colored Crown)
  • Non Precious Metal Alloy (Nickel-Chrome)
  • Semi Precious Metal Alloy (Silver-Palladium)
  • Precious Metal Alloy (Gold)
  • Metal Free All Ceramic Zirconia Crowns
The difference in these restorations is their bio compatibility with the gums, their strength and their aesthetic value.

About Us

Ultrasonic Scaling and Teeth Polishing
Scaling or Oral Prophylaxis is a procedure where ultrasonic vibrations in conjunction with water is used to remove any plaque, calculus (tartar), debris or stains deposited on to the tooth surface. This procedure prevents the progression of gum disease (pyorrhea) which is most commonly seen.

If the tartar is allowed to stay accumulated on the teeth it will provide the right conditions for bacteria to thrive next to the gums. The purpose of the cleaning and polishing is basically to leave the surfaces of the teeth clean and smooth so that bacteria are unable to stick to them and you have a better chance of keeping the teeth clean during your regular home care. Also it leaves your teeth feeling lovely and smooth and clean, which is nice when you run your tongue around them.

The ultrasonic instrument tips are curved and rounded and are always kept in motion around the teeth. Their purpose is to make tartar loose and not cut into the teeth. If the sensations are too strong settings can be adjusted along with the applied pressure to make it more comfortable.

Polishing is done with a special toothpaste-like material and a rubber polishing cup which is spun around on the teeth to make them shiny smooth.
